I was just running away from it. Would this not be common knowledge, or is the distance really enough that he wouldn't be aware of it? Not only was it a compelling mystery, it was also interesting to read a book set in Spain since I've never read one before (with the exception of my miserable attempt to read Don Quixote. Although it took me a little bit getting through the first chapters, the book totally captivated me. Manuel travels down and stumbles across suspicous circumstances. I don't get why she stuck around with him after what he did, frankly.
