We do not believe that high quality legal service needs to be presented in expensive board rooms. We have a convenient, downtown Carlsbad, office with off-street parking. We represent families and individuals seeking to organize and protect their assets in a tax compliant, effective and efficient manner. We work with small estates and have settled estates of more than $100 million is assets.

We represent the agents of estates and trusts as well as heirs and beneficiaries. We seek efficient, compliant and fair resolution at all times.

We believe that our longstanding success in the estate planning legal community is built upon the satisfaction of our clients. We identify our fees in advance of service, NEVER charge a fee for digital document storage and our probate administration fees are the absolute minimum set by law. We make every effort to treat our clients, as well as adversaries, with respect and professionalism. We advocate for our clients not through puffery or unnecessary bravado but rather by our expert understanding of the law.

Michael McCarthy
Managing Attorney

Michael McCarthy was born in San Diego and raised in Carlsbad, California and is a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney practicing in North County San Diego. After graduating Cum Laude from Santa Clara University, Mr. McCarthy was first employed by Price Waterhouse, now Price Waterhouse Coopers in the firm’s Silicon Valley Office. After several years, Mr. McCarthy joined the Palo Alto based management consulting firm of R.B. Webber and Company, working with Fortune 100 Companies to execute strategic acquisitions and product development plans for leading technology and product service institutions.

Leveraging oddly acquired Irish Spanish, Mike McCarthy then attended Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Business, the nation’s oldest and best ranked international business school and obtained a Masters of International Business. After graduation with honors, Mr. McCarthy facilitated the development of commercial enterprises in Norway, Spain, Austria, France and Germany.

With an interest in leveraging his business and taxation acumen with the law, Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude, Order of the Coif and as a Law Review member from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Mike is grateful to be able to enjoy the perfect weather of North County San Diego, enjoys spending time with his family, participates as a member of the North County Rules Committee of the San Diego Superior Court as well as a Trustee of the Oceanside Museum of Art.
